The Declaration for Equity and Education, is being authored by those with the necessary training, experience, and passion to do so. It describes the most significant issues in education and provides practical solutions for them, and includes recommendations and guidelines for non-educator decision-makers with a goal to facilitate positive change in education. Americans, Canadians, Liberians, Australians, Taiwanese, Rwandans, and their many peers in schools, colleges and universities across the globe began the document in San Francisco in July 2008. They will com together again meet to expand and detail it in November 2008 in Tarrytown, NY, and again at international conferences in Seattle, Santa Fe, San Francisco and Denver in 2009. Parents, teachers, professors, and students are called to action to take part in the development of this powerful document that upon its completion will be brought before Congress, the Senate, and the newly elected US administration in 2009.
